Get set for Essex Air Ambulance Motorcycle Run & Harwich Family Festival

This Sunday 6th September join us for the 16th annual Essex Air Ambulance Motorcycle Run & Harwich Family Festival

Sponsored by Woodland Group and Jack Lilley Motorcycles, the event is our biggest fundraising event of the year – over 5,000 motorcyclists look set to join us on the 60 mile ride form Ford Dunton in Laindon to Harwich. Tips on how to stay safe during the Motorcycle Run.

At Ford Dunton, riders and visitors will be treated to 3 spectacular performances by Bolddog Freestyle Motocross (FMX) display team as seen on Britain’s Got Talent to kick start the Run. This awe-inspiring team of motorcycle stunt riders specialise in mind-blowing stunts as they flip, fly and glide in death-defying stunts

Riders will leave Ford Dunton Technical Centre from 11am and make their way to historic Harwich along a route approved by Essex Police. They will be marshalled down the A127 to the A130 and on to the A12. From the A12 bikers will be directed to Harwich on the A120. Bikers will be greeted by local dignitaries and VIP’s including the Mayor of Harwich and event sponsors as they cross the finish line in Harwich which will be marked by a specially branded Ford Transit Trend courtesy of Ford Motor Company.

Everyone is welcome to join us on Harwich Green for the free Family Festival from 12 noon – look out for a host of motorcycle dealer stands; the Heart Angels from Heart FM, craft and community stands and children’s activities. Food and refreshments are available from the Official Motorcycle Run caterer, British Event Catering where a donation is made directly to the Air Ambulance from every meal purchased.

The Charity is pleased to welcome back local bands Foogle and Stone the Crows who will be performing to the 7,000+ strong crowds on the green.

Our life-saving helicopter will be based at the event giving visitors the opportunity to see the aircraft up close and meet the Crew.

Please note, The Harwich Green area will once again be closed to cars in order to allow for the presence of the bikes.
