Patient Testimonials
Lisa - Harry Bryne's Mum
“I just wanted to say thank you to Anne Waever (Air Crew Doctor) and Dan Firmin (Air Crew Paramedic) for being so great yesterday when my son was hit by a car. They were just fantastic and I wanted to say thank you so very very much. x"
Miss Joanne Buckley - sister of Darren Buckley
"I would like to thank all the crew that quickly arrived to my brother on the afternoon of april the 20th 2011 after he was visciously stabbed and thanks to theyre quick work he got to the royal london hospital in time for a life saving operation and blood transfusion. I really cant thank you enough for what you done, and i still have my big brother. Thank you"
Mr Alan Gordon from Brentwood - Husband of Rachel Gordon
"Grateful thanks for coming to the aid of my wife on 7 May 2011, for superb care and for directing her to the appropriate hospital for medical care."
Sonia Guadagnino, sister of Simon Guadagnino from Halstead
"My name is Sonia Guadagnino and you saved my brother's life yesterday in an accident in Halstead where he suffered severe injuries with a circular saw while at home doing DIY. He is now recovering in Colchester hospital but I feel sure that without your intervention he would have struggled to pull through. Thank you so much for what you do which for many of us on the other side becomes apparent only when directly involved. I will never underestimate again the importance of the work you do and I hope that under no circumstances will your contribution be denied to people in need. Thank you so so very much. Sonia."
Mrs Sammie-Jo Watts, wife of airlifted patient Charlie Watts from Wrabness
"My husband and I would like to say a massive thank you to the whole team, especially Pilot Richard Eastwood, HEMS Doctor Ross Davenport and HEMS Paramedic Dan Firmin. Because of the quick despatch of the helicopter and the fast actions of the Air Crew, our son didn't have to endure an hour plus land ambulance journey. The Air Crew carried out their roles with great professionalism, care and empathy. They explained the situation clearly to us and to our son and told us how it was likely to develop. The Team made the whole terrifying experience easier to cope with."
Miss Abi Smith from Broxbourne
"Thanks for everything you did, I was one of the frist on scene and requested HEMS for this RTC. Your professionalism was excellent and you flew the patient to the Royal London hospital and you are all worth your weight in gold. You all dont get thanked enough."
Mr Joe Boswell from Chelmsford
"On the 21st January 2010 while I was working on building mine and my wife's new house I fell approx 12ft suffering multiple injuries which included a Traumatic Brain Injury. I have been told that I had very little chance of surviving this but thanks to the swift arrival of the Paramedics and the Air Ambulance I was airlifted to the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel where I underwent brain surgery. I was in a coma for 10 days in intensive care and then spent four weeks on the HDU ward before being transferred to the Homerton in Hackney. I went home for good on the 3rd December 2010. If it was not for the Air Crew on that day I would not have been here, a thought that does not bear thinking about. Please send my whole hearted thanks to those who saved my life on that day."
Mr Charlie Thompson from Sible Hedingham
"Thank you for helping me when I was ill, if it wasn't for the helicopter a lot of people would be really sick. The helicopter took one minute to arrive but the land ambulance took forty minutes, thank you."
