Here are some of the recent missions carried out by the Essex Air Ambulance...

February 2012
The Essex Air Ambulance attended an adult male who had fallen on ice and suffered a fractured ankle in Basildon. The area where the man fell was difficult to access for a normal land ambulance, so the Essex Air Ambulance was called.

February 2012
The Essex Air Ambulance attended an adult male who had suffered an industrial accident in Latchingdon. The patient was later airlifted to the new Helideck at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford.

January 2012
The Essex Air Ambulance attended an adult female who had suffered multiple injuries after being involved in a road traffic accident in Wix, near Colchester. Pilot David Kerr-Sheppard landed the helicopter in a field near the incident, and she was treated on scene by HEMS Doctor Imogen Bowring and HEMS Paramedic Laurie Phillipson, and then airlifted to Addenbrookes hospital for further treatment.

January 2012
The Essex Air Ambulance attended an adult male who had suffered a fall in Harwich. Pilot David Kerr-Sheppard landed the helicopter at the Harwich Docks. The patient was suffering from cold exposure and was treated on scene by HEMS Doctor Clare Park and HEMS Paramedic Chris Martin.  

December 2011
The Essex Air Ambulance attended an adult female who had been involved in a road accident in Ongar and suffered leg and abdominal injuries. Pilot Nicky Smith landed the helicopter in a field near the incident. She was treated on scene by HEMS Doctor Rob Broomhead and HEMS Paramedic Dave Tamarro, and then airlifted to Royal London hospital for further treatment.

December 2011
The Essex Air Ambulance attended a male child who had suffered a medical collapse in South Woodham Ferrers. Pilot Nicky Smith landed the helicopter on the carriageway of the A130 near to the scene. He was treated by HEMS Doctor Healy and HEMS Paramedic Dan Firmin, and then conveyed to hospital by land ambulance. 

November 2011
The Essex Air Ambulance attended an adult male who had been involved in a road accident and suffered face and leg injuries. Pilot Nicky Smith landed the helicopter in a field near the incident. He was treated on scene by HEMS Doctor MJ Slabbert and HEMS Paramedic Ben Myer, and then airlifted to Addenbrookes hospital for further treatment. 

November 2011
The Essex Air Ambulance attended an adult male who had suffered a fall and sustained various injuries. Pilot Nicky Smith landed the helicopter in a concrete yard near the incident. He was treated on scene by HEMS Doctor Derek Hicks and HEMS Paramedic Laurie Phillipson, and then airlifted to hospital for further treatment. 

November 2011
The Essex Air Ambulance attended an adult male who had suffered a medical collapse. Due to the poor weather, the helicopter was offline. Therefore the HEMS Team attended the scene in the rapid response vehicle. He was treated on scene by HEMS Doctor MJ Slabbert and HEMS Paramedic Dave Tamarro, and then taken to Colchester hospital by land ambulance for further treatment. 

October 2011
The Essex Air Ambulance attended an adult male who had been involved in a road accident and suffered head and chest injuries. Pilot Richard Eastwood landed the helicopter in a field near the incident. He was treated on scene by HEMS Doctor Maria Smith and HEMS Paramedic Ben Myer, and then airlifted to Addenbrookes hospital for further treatment. 

October 2011
The Essex Air Ambulance attended an adult male who had suffered a cardiac arrest. Pilot David Kerr-Sheppard landed the helicopter approximately 500 yards from the incident. He was treated on scene by HEMS Doctor Derek Hicks and HEMS Paramedic Dave Tamarro.

The Essex Air Ambulance attended a female child who had suffered burns to her chest, arms and neck. Pilot Andy Figg landed the helicopter near the incident and she was treated on scene by HEMS Doctor Anna Dobbie and HEMS Paramedic Dave Tamarro, and later airlifted to hospital for further treatment. 

September 2011
The Essex Air Ambulance attended a female child who had suffered a head injury. Pilot Matt Tacon landed the helicopter in a field near the incident. She was treated on scene by HEMS Doctor Adam Chesters and HEMS Paramedic John McCusker, and then taken to hospital by land ambulance.

The Essex Air Ambulance attended an adult female who had suffered a head injury after being knocked down by a car. Pilot Nicky Smith landed the helicopter in a field near the incident. She was treated on scene by HEMS Doctor Zane Perkins and HEMS Paramedic Dan Firmin, and then airlifted to Queens Hospital in Romford. 

September 2011
The Essex Air Ambulance attended an adult male who was involved in a motorcycle road traffic collision. The patient suffered injuries to his abdomen and pelvis. Pilot Matt Tacon landed the helicopter in a field near the incident. He was treated on scene by HEMS Doctor Claire Park and HEMS Paramedic Dan Firmin, and then airlifted to Norwich and Norfolk Hospital. 

August 2011
The Essex Air Ambulance attended an adult female who had suffered a fit. Pilot Richard Eastwood landed the helicopter on a football pitch near the incident. She was treated on scene by HEMS Doctor Neil Slabbert and HEMS Paramedic Dan Firmin, and then airlifted to Queens Hospital in Romford.

August 2011
The Essex Air Ambulance attended an adult male who had suffered a head injury. Pilot Nicky Smith landed the helicopter in a nearby nursing home car park. He was treated on scene by our HEMS Doctor Derek Hicks and HEMS Paramedic Chris Martin, and then taken by land ambulance to Broomfield Hospital. 

July 2011
The Essex Air Ambulance attended a man who had suffered a cardiac arrest on a golf course. Pilot Richard Eastwood landed the helicopter on the golf course near to the patient. The HEMS Paramedic Ben Myer and Doctor Neil Slabbert worked hard to stabilise the patient before he was airlifted to Basildon Hospital. 

July 2011
The Essex Air Ambulance attended a man who had been involved in a road traffic collision and had suffered chest and abdominal injuries. Pilot Richard Eastwood landed the helicopter on the dual carriageway, and the HEMS Doctor Imogen Bowring and Paramedic Ben Myer organised extrication of the patient with the Fire service. He was then flown to the Royal London Hospital for further treatment.

The Essex Air Ambulance attended a man who had suffered a fall and sustained a fractured upper arm. Pilot Jim Polworth landed the helicopter in a field next to the incident. The patient was treated at the scene by our HEMS Doctor Maria Smith and HEMS Paramedic Ben Myer and then taken to hospital by land ambulance.

June 2011
The Essex Air Ambulance attended a man who had suffered a cardiac arrest. Pilot Richard Eastwood landed the helicopter on a playing field to the incident. The patient was treated at the scene by our HEMS Doctor Imogen Bowring and HEMS Paramedic Dave Tamarro and then taken to hospital by land ambulance.

The Essex Air Ambulance attended a child who had suffered a head injury. Pilot Nicky Smith landed the helicopter on a field near to the incident. The patient was treated at the scene by our HEMS Doctor Imogen Bowring and HEMS Paramedic John McCusker and then airlifted to Addenbrookes Hospital.

The Essex Air Ambulance attended a child who had suffered a hand injury. Pilot Richard Eastwood landed the helicopter in the patient’s garden. The patient was treated at the scene by our HEMS Doctor Ross Davenport and HEMS Paramedic Dan Firmin and then airlifted to hospital.

May 2011
The Essex Air Ambulance attended a woman who was involved in a road traffic collision and had suffered a back injury. Pilot Richard Eastwoood landed the helicopter on a field adjacent to the accident site. The patient was treated at the scene by our HEMS Doctor Imogen Bowring and HEMS Paramedic Stuart Elms and then taken to hospital by land ambulance.

May 2011
The Essex Air Ambulance attended a man who was involved in a road traffic collision and had suffered a back injury. Pilot David Kerr-Sheppard landed the helicopter on a green near the incident. The patient was treated at the scene by our HEMS Doctor Dan Nevin and HEMS Paramedic Dave Tamarro and then airlifted to the Royal London Hospital.

The Essex Air Ambulance attended a man who had suffered a cardiac arrest in his home. Pilot Richard Eastwood landed the helicopter on a green near the incident. The patient was treated at the scene by our HEMS Doctor MJ Slabbert and HEMS Paramedic Dan Firmin and then taken to hospital.

The Essex Air Ambulance attended a man who was involved in a road traffic collision on the A12 near Colchester. The patient was treated at the scene by our HEMS Doctor Anne Weaver and HEMS Paramedic Ben Myer and then airlifted to Adenbrookes Hospital.
